SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL LEARNING MODULE FOR COMMUNITY ADULTS
AIM AND OBJECTIVES:
The aim of this programme which runs over is to help adults (through creativity) become socially and emotionally competent and self-aware. They will learn to know their emotional capability, their strengths and limitations and they will learn how to use this to generate positive emotions in order to motivate learning within themselves and those they work with. When adults / facilitators have combined competency in all eight social and emotional areas they create student / classroom environments that encourage optimum social emotional development in students and those they facilitate. This is created through focusing on building positive relationships, role-modelling communication skills and general pro-social behaviour towards others. Within this a harmonious environment is created with respect for individual differences and needs.

‘I wanted to say a heartfelt thank you for the process we have just been through. I find myself looking forward to tomorrow and I realise that we are done, with some sadness and nostalgia. I have learned a lot and really appreciated reconnecting with the parts of myself that have been neglected along the way. I really love the way you facilitated the programme and held us all through the process. I would love to be able to facilitate programmes like these one day.’
